Tuesday's Tips 4 Pics

Sharing Holiday Pictures

October marks the beginning of our whirlwind holiday season! It starts with a trip to the pumpkin patch, followed by Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and before you know it we'll be ringing in 2022! And if you haven't already seen a million pumpkin patch pictures on social media, know that it is also the season of pictures! You will probably take more pictures in the next 3 months than you took all year long! And hopefully, you will be celebrating with your loved ones which means you will definitely take more pictures than last year's holiday season when we were still "safe at home!" One way to make sure you don't miss out on having access to any of those great moments captured by you, your parents, kids, siblings, cousins, best friend or co-worker is to set up a shared album BEFORE the event! Shared Albums in iPhoto

  • Open the app on your phone

  • Click the plus + sign in the top left corner

  • Select "New SHARED Album"

  • Give your album a title (ex: Pumpkin Patch 2021)

  • Click "Next"

  • Enter anyone you'd like to share the album with

  • Click "Create"

Shared Albums in Google Photos

  • Open the app on your phone

  • Select "Library" in the bottom right corner of your screen

  • Select "New Album"

  • Give your album a title (ex: Pumpkin Patch 2021)

  • Click the 3 dots in the top right corner

  • Select "Options"

  • Select "Invite People"

  • Add your people and then click the blue "send" button (they will receive a link to join)

  • Click the arrow in the top left corner of your screen TWICE

  • You will be able to see your newly created album in your list of albums

After the celebration, remind everyone to add their BEST pictures from the day to the shared album! If you ask for all of their pictures, you may have a mess so be very clear you ONLY want THE BEST OF THE BEST!

And just like that, everyone will be able to view, print and share all those great memories!

After last year, I think we all realized what's really important! So if we can help you with a photo book, or you want to create your own with an online class we'd love to be of service to you!

All the best,

Melissa
