The beginning of the year is the perfect time to FINALLY start organizing your digital photos! Simply create a 2022 album and commit to spending just a few minutes on the first day of each month adding your photos from the last 30 days! And what better time to start than on this first day of March! You will be amazed at how quickly you can create a system to organize your pictures, taking the stress out of finding and sharing all those great memories!
START BY CREATING AN ALBUM FOR 2022 Whether you use iPhoto, Google or any other cloud service you can create albums to organize your digital photos.
Open the iPhoto app
Click "Albums" at the bottom of your screen
Click "+" sign in the top left corner of your screen
Click "New Album"
Add title "2022"
Add all of your pictures from January and/or February (you can swipe your finger across the screen to select multiple photos at a time)
Open the Google Photos app
Click "Library" at the bottom of your screen
Click on the empty white album with the "+" in the middle to start a new album
Add title "2022"
Click the blue "done" button
Click "Select photos"
Add your January and/or February photos (click the circle next to each date to add photos in bulk instead of one by one)
Click "Add" in the top right corner
NEXT, CLEAN UP YOUR JANUARY & FEBRUARY PICS
Just like cooking, if you clean up as you go it makes the process of organizing your pictures so much easier!
#1 DELETE JUNK
Delete blurry pictures, screenshots, accidental photos of your shoe, ANY pictures you do not need to keep!
#2 DELETE MULITPLE COPIES
Smartphones make it incredibly easy to take multiple pictures of the exact same moment leading to excessive amounts of digital clutter!
Go through your multiple copies and delete everything except the ONE best photo
That's all there is to it... quick, easy and now you are organized for the year so far!
I will send you this little reminder each month throughout 2022 in order to help you start small with organizing after 20+ years of taking and collecting digital photos! Just because this kind of clutter is invisible, doesn't mean it doesn't need some work! Especially when you consider how valuable our pictures truly are not just to us, but to future generations too!
All the best,
